Before the launch of youtube in 2005, there was a few simple ways that ordinary computer users could upload videos without having to obtain a high skill level of computer tech. With it easy to interface youtube gave the public what they wanted a simple site to upload watch and post video blogs. The wide range of topics on the site and the different videos that were posted immediately made the website a hit. Now that youtube is out and has originated from the bottom they now are at the top owned by google and some say they have turned video sharing into one of the most important parts of internet culture. An early example of social impact of youtube was the success of the bus uncle video which was a video that was a fav favorite turing the creater of bus uncle into a celebrity. It goes to show why youtube is so important because it can change an ordinary man in a video on a bus in hong kong into a star.
